At WEF, we offer the opportunity for students to gain practical experience and connect with industry leaders in the field of Project Management. 

Volunteer Opportunities

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons. For some, it offers the chance to give something back to the community or make a difference to the people around them. For others, it provides an opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge.

To get the most out of your volunteer experience, we encourage you to pursue your interests, challenge yourself by trying new activities and get connected with others. You can choose from volunteer opportunities in a variety of areas that can match your skills, interests, and availability.

We offer a flexible range of ways to become involved, no matter how much time you have or the skills you are looking to share. Our volunteer opportunities include:​​

  • Assisting in the preparation for the annual Wideman Education Foundation competition

  • Playing a role in the execution of the annual competition

  • Promoting WEF online and in live events​

  • Developing content for social media and help grow our base of followers​

  • Sharing your ideas to better connect WEF with students like yourself

Director, Programs

  • Develop the annual WEF event program. 

  • Manage WEF events including project management and event calendar 

  • Managing the acquisition of event facilities including all task associated with delivery of a successful event 

  • Events include, but not limited to, competitions, educational workshops, gatherings, etc. 

  • Collaborate with other board members to expand WEF program/events 

Director, Communications

  • Create and manage content delivered through WEF's web site and social media channels

  • Ensure timely communication of WEF and its partners' events and activities on WEF's online channels 

  • Maintain key website information such as the Foundation's Mission 

  • Work with the Board to encourage content for public information; 

  • Sending appreciation 
    correspondence related toWEF events

Director, Volunteering

  • Identify volunteer needs of the foundation 

  • Facilitate development of job descriptions for volunteer roles

  • Seek out institutions, organizations, or individuals who may provide or provide access to volunteers services

  • Improve the volunteer lifecycle process, from onboarding to acknowledgement

  • Make recommendations to the Board regarding effective engagement with volunteers

Director, Sponsorships

  • Development and execution of plans to grow and promote sponsorship of the foundation 
     

  • Select promotional material and raise funding to support the operation and mandate of the foundation 
     

  • Create and manage fund raising campaigns as necessary
