2016 Wideman Prize Competition Winner: The A Team: Local Love Market

The Wideman Education Foundation (WEF) congratulates The A Team: Local Love Market team on winning the 2016 Wideman Prize for Project Management Excellence!

The A Team: Local Love Market, from Simon Fraser University, demonstrated to the panel of judges their skill and leadership in planning and executing their project to the highest of standards.

We are also pleased to recognize the SFU Faculty Cup team, who came in as the runners-up for the 2016 Wideman Prize Competition.

2015 Wideman Prize Competition Winner: Team e-Bike Revolution

The Wideman Education Foundation (WEF) congratulates the e-Bike Revolution team on winning the 2015 Wideman Prize for Project Management Excellence!

The e-Bike Revolution team from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver campus demonstrated to the panel of nine judges their skill and leadership in planning and executing their project to the highest of standards. Working as a team, e-Bike Revolution partnered with OHM Cycles, an e-bike manufacturer based in Abbotsford, to hold a test drive event for the UBC community that had over 120 participants trying an e-bike – double the team’s original target.

Eileen Iverson Keynote Speaker at WEF’s 2015 Wideman Prize Competition

The Wideman Education Foundation is pleased to announce that Eileen Iverson will be the keynote speaker for the 2015 Wideman Prize Competition event!

Students competing in this year’s Wideman Prize Competition will hear Eileen deliver a lunchtime keynote presentation on:

  • What qualities you need to be successful as a Project Manager in the public sector?
  • What are employers looking for?
  • Skills you need to be successful and how you can build your toolkit to complement these skills today to excel in an exciting career of Project Management.

Eileen Iverson is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB), holds a Diploma in Management Studies and Certification in Information Technology.

2015 Wideman Prize Competition in Project Management Scheduled for April 11th

2014 Wideman Prize Competition finalists: Team “SHIFT” of UBC.

For the the sixth year, WEF will be hosting its annual Wideman Prize Competition in Project Management at SFU’s Surrey Campus on April 11, 2015.

Open to students enrolled in approved undergraduate project management courses, the competition requires participants to work in teams of 5 to select, initiate, plan and execute a real project. Continue reading 2015 Wideman Prize Competition in Project Management Scheduled for April 11th

2014 Wideman Prize Competition

The 2014 Wideman Prize Competition will celebrate the hard work of student teams competing from SFU and UBC for the annual Wideman Prize Award in Project Management Excellence.

The event will kickoff with a welcome address followed by the initial round of judging, where teams will break out into different rooms and present their projects in front of a judges panel, one at a time.

Teams will break for lunch and have the opportunity to hear a special keynote presentation by a project management industry professional.

The day will then continue with round two of judging for the three finalist teams. After the judge’s final deliberations, the winning team will be announced before the end of the day.
