What a great day! On June 3 WEF attended the Project management Institute (PMI) Canadian West Coast Chapter (CCWC) annual Career Fair. Many thanks to the generous support of PMI local chapter! Board members reconnected with some of our strong supporters and introduced WEF’s mandate and projects to the Career Fair attendees. Most excitingly we met one of the past WEF Competition competitors: Gordon Swenson, who took part of the Wideman Prize Competition in 2011 and told us about how the competition has affected him. WEF Project Management Career Speaker Event

On December 7, 2010 WEF, partnering with the Faculty of Business Administration and the School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) at Simon Fraser University, held their second successful Project Management Career Speaker Event. Keeping in mind the importance of being on the cutting edge of technology and awareness of global workworld changes, WEF continues to fulfill its Mandate to teach and develop tomorrow’s Project Managers. SIAT + Business host project management competition

Recently, the Wideman Education Foundation and Simon Fraser University Surrey hosted a project management competition asking students the question “Why should high school students attend post-secondary education”?

SIAT + Business host project management competition
The winning team featured students from Surrey Connect High School: Jane Wong, Sammy Tsai, Jansen Moon, Lillian Liu, and Stephen Chung.

The team that made the most compelling media vehicle was awarded $300 for each team member, as well as a project management book, and a networking dinner with the Project Management Institute in Vancouver.
